Appearance[]

The redstone mines is a large mine fixed with a cave atop a mountain, where Redstone can be seen jutting out of the walls and floor as crystals and a material the Illagers are harvesting for their war machine’s construction. It is described as a claustrophobic and large network of tunnels and cartways, which explains the large amount of rails and Minecarts running and laid about. Large quantities of redstone are also seen throughout the mine, getting lifted via pulleys. Within the mine is where Illagers harvest Redstone and control Villagers to do their work as well. The exit of the mine is a lift that leads to the cold snowy peaks outside.

Abomination Vine[]

Abomination Vine

Behavior

Hostile

An abomination vine is a non-attackable mob summoned by the jungle abomination when it uses the vine attack.

Behavior

These vines behave similar to the quick growing vines, but they are immune to all forms of damage and can do contact damage to the hero when they sprout up. The jungle abomination usually summons about 8 of these scattered in a large circle around itself, but can do a few other patterns such as just four of them in a small square around itself. Where the vines will sprout up from is signified by a brief purple crack coming out of a spot in the ground. They sink back down into the ground after a few seconds.

Mobs[]

Beta Armored Mountaineer

Main article: MCD:Beta Armored Mountaineer

The Beta Armored Mountaineer is a light red variant of the Mountaineer that was planned for the Howling Peaks DLC, but only appeared in the Howling Peaks DLC’s beta version. It’s outfit is similar to the Rampart Captain. It was added on the files on the Howling Peaks patch.

Chicken (mob)

Main article: MCD:Chicken (mob)

The Chicken (mob) is an unused in Minecraft Dungeons that was scrapped alongside the Enchantsmith. The chicken (mob) would have only be found next to the Enchantsmith’s camp stall. The Chicken (mob) seems to sit idly in position, being unable to be attacked.

Enchantsmith

Main article: MCD:Enchantsmith

The Enchantsmith is an unused NPC mob in Minecraft Dungeons that was added in the game files in the Echoing Void patch, but was never added into the game.

Jack O’ Lantern

Main article: MCD:Jack o’ Lantern

The Jack o’ Lantern, otherwise known as the Jack o’ Lantern Trap, is an unused mob that was added in the Beta stage of Minecraft Dungeons and was planned for Minecraft Dungeons.

Mason

Main article: MCD:Mason

The Mason is an unimplemented merchant that would have been able to upgrade the players gear to their current power level using diamond dust that could be bought for 1000 emeralds. Its item-upgrading functionality was re-added in the Creeping Winter update with the Blacksmith, minus the diamond dust.

Quest Giver

Main article: MCD:Quest Giver

The Quest Giver is an unimplemented merchant that would have been able to give quests to the player similar to the mission map in the camp. It was first added during the Creeping Winter patch along with the other new camp merchants, with it potentially being one of them, but it was never implemented. Its appearance resembles the savanna villagers from regular Minecraft with it having sandals and red and green clothes. It also has a bandanna over its eyes and wears a crown.

Web Spider

Main article: MCD:Web Spider

The Web Spider is an unimplemented mob in Minecraft Dungeons that was added in the game files in the Dungeons Beta, but was removed in 1.7.3.0. It is a variant of the spider that could be featured in a future DLC or update. The only proof of its existence so far are a few textures and models in the game files. It is only inferred that the web spider has red eyes, as the textures for other spiders also lack eyes. The web spider is very similar in appearance to the spider. It’s main similarity is that it has red eyes. The difference is that it has a greenish tint on its texture. In addition to this, looking closely, there is also a very subtle purple tint in the middle of the side of each leg. It also seems to use the old spider texture prior to 1.14 just with a green tint.

Wildfire

Main article: MCD:Wildfire

The Wildfire is an unimplemented mob that was planned for the Flames of the Nether DLC, which its behavior mostly consisted of shooting fireballs and possibly protecting itself using its shields, it was added on the files on the Flames of the Nether patch.

Appearance[]

The small continent where Flames of the Nether takes place.

Flames of the Nether is based on the Nether dimension in the base game where lava can be found everywhere. The player starts at the north of the map, in the Nether Wastes level. Nether Wart Forests can be found to the west of it where fungi and vines grow wildly. The cyan and mysterious one is called Warped Forest while the bloody and red one is the Crimson Forest. A huge volcano lies in the south made up of blackstone as well as large basalt pillars dotting its surface. Snowflake-like particles cover this region, making it identical to the Snowy Tundra. In the far east, there is a large valley made of soul related blocks, as well as mysterious fossils. A colossal fortress is built right above the lava sea in the center of the Nether.

Howling Peaks.

Appearance[]

As its name implies, the Lone Fortress is a large, frostbitten castle located near the center of the island. The castle seems to be in a severe state of ruin on the outside and inside, but still managed to survive the cold winds to be used by the local illagers for training and normal lives. Outside the castle, frozen ponds can be seen with some lilypads even stuck on the ice. Within the castle, a small library can be seen as well as various winding paths and even a kitchen and a buffet room filled with Vindicator Chefs. Various doors can be seen blocking the winding hallways, which all lead to a large indoor garden and room and a Grand Chamber where the Wretched Wraith can be fought above a frozen arena which rises from the bottomless pit. Near the exit, a dragon statue can be seen, and two paintings as well within the hallways, depicting the Arch-Illager with the words weak and foe vandalized upon it.

Trivia[]

  • There is a secret farm room in the fortress that generates with cows, sheep, pigs and horses, the latter two are exclusive to this secret area.
  • The statues outside of the fortress resembles Enchanters.
  • After the hero defeats the Wretched Wraith, the hero can see what looks like a frozen version of the former Arch-Illager’s throne.
  • There is a painting of the Archie that spells out the word, «Weak» written on it, and another with the word «Foe» on it. There is also a toppled-over throne that resembles that of the former Arch-Illager.
  • A statue resembling a Necromancer has a chance to generate outside the fortress.
  • It is referred to as the Lone Fortress in the game files and in-game.
