Modern Warfare 2 News Round-Up

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s launch was a huge success, the game generated $550 million during its first five days on the market. MW2 actually broke Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’s five-day global box-office record of $394 million. It’s expected that MW3, which should be out 2011, will do even better than Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 also dominated last week’s game charts in the United Kingdom, with the Xbox 360 version selling over 1 million copies. The NPD sales figures for the United States should be available in a couple of weeks.

Despite the boycott, the PC versions first-week sales topped COD4 and COD5: World at War.

Robert Bowling — «The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in it’s first week.

Essentially, all this percentage proves is that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions sold great, not that the PC version sold poorly, because that’s actually not the case. The PC version has done tremendous in it’s first week, better than our previous game.»

On a side note, Modern Warfare 2 had over 2 million concurrent users on Xbox Live last Wednesday, which overtook Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 with ease. Over 5 million hours of multiplayer matches were played through Xbox Live on that day. Sony has not revealed how many PS3 users are playing the game over the PlayStation Network.Hidden Game Modes
Modern Warfare 2’s developer console has been hacked, thus allowing modders to access many of the games hidden ‘features’. There are some code references to MW3. It also seems that MW2 has 4 hidden game modes that didn’t make it in time for the games release, but should be available in COD: Ghosts.

Arena — Round based capture the flag, with one flag in the middle of the map.Global Thermonuclear War — There is a nuke in the middle of the map, and both teams have to get to it and set it off.OneFlag — Just like capture the flag, but one team defends the flag and the other tries to capture it.VIP — One team tries to get the VIP to the extraction zone, while the other team tries to kill the VIP.

It’s unknown if these game modes will be available later as DLCs for the Xbox 360 and PS3 users.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

The latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops III, takes place in a dystopian future set in 2065. The game deploys players into a dark, twisted future where the line between humans and technology is blurred. Treyarch is developing black ops 3 / iii exclusively for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Last generation consoles will also be receiving the game, but by a different developer.

BO3 has three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies that provide hours and hours of gameplay. Since the game takes place in the future most of the guns are futuristic variants of today’s weaponry. There are no black ops iii weapons that are energy-based, like in Advanced Warfare. Most of the black ops iii perks have been carefully balanced and work well with the new weapons.

There will be a host of new scorestreaks available in the final version of the game, check out the current black ops iii killstreaks that are available. Black Ops III will also use a heavily modified version of the Black Ops II engine. This allows for bigger maps, as seen in the black ops iii multiplayer maps list. BO3 will be released on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 6, 2015.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a new installment to the Call of Duty series that is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. By harnessing the power of next-gen platforms advanced warfare brings players into the future with exoskeletons that enhance player movement with boost jumps and unparalleled strength. COD: AW will be released on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PS4, and PC early November.

The game takes place in 2054 where private military corporations are the largest military force in the world. The multiplayer is also set in 2054 where advanced warfare weapons are divided between standard ammunition and an all-new class of energy weaponry. Players are armed with all-new equipment, technology and advanced warfare perks that give unprecedented tactical freedom.

All COD: AW pre-orders get access to the «Advanced Arsenal» that comes with a custom bullet brass themed exoskeleton and the EM1 Quantum energy weapon.

Что такое Pick 10? В некоторых прошлых играх можно было выбрать для бойца всего 10 элементов экипировки. Хочешь штурмовую винтовку с пятью апгрейдами? Тогда будь добр поиграть без гранат, или пользоваться только одним перком из трех. Сейчас этих ограничений нет, и это отличное решение. Теперь можно спокойно навешать на винтовку и пистолет все любимые апгрейды и не париться о том, что от чего-то придется отказаться. 

Прокачка оружия просто выносит мозги. Теперь на каждую пушку есть по 60-70 апгрейдов, которые делятся на несколько основных категорий: насадка на ствол, сам ствол, крепление под ствол, приклад, рукоятка, размер обоймы, прицел или перк.

Перки дают различные бонусы, от полного боезапаса в начале матча до увеличения скорости ударов в ближнем бою. Ради интереса я прокачал один пистолет до максимума в надежде увидеть перк на парный хват, чтобы взять по два пистолета в руки – увы, не добавили! Надеюсь, появится в будущих дополнениях.

Каждый предмет меняет характеристики оружия и его внешний вид. И характеристики в этот раз обставлены не в виде абстрактных цифр в характеристиках, а вносят реальный импакт, который можно отличить невооруженным взглядом. К примеру, удлиненный ствол для штурмовой винтовки увеличивает эффективную дальность, но боец дольше прицеливается и медленнее водит ствол в стороны. 

Modern Warfare 2 DLC Map Pack — Resurgence Pack

The 2nd DLC, Resurgence Pack, will be out on 3rd of June and will be an Xbox 360 exclusive for now, just like the Stimulus Package. It will be available on the PS3 and PC on 7th July, 2010.

The Resurgence Pack will cost Modern Warfare 2 fans 15 USD (same as its predecessor) and will include five maps, of which three are new ones and the rest Call of Duty 4 remakes.

• Carnival: abandoned carnival area with a Ferris wheel, fun house and other attractions.
• Trailer Park: full of tight corridors.
• Fuel: based in and around an oil refinery which is ideal for snipers.
• Vacant (COD4 remake): wide open Russian office complex.
• Strike (COD4 remake): urban town surrounded by hotels.

Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) is expected to have at least three map packs, check out the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps. If the DLC isn’t your thing, prepare for Call of Duty 7: Black Ops which will be out on 9th of November, 2010.

Why isn’t Black Ops 2 being remastered?

We believe there could be two strong reasons for Black Ops 2 not being remastered, one being that it would oversaturate the CoD market, and also that we’ve already seen a few of its maps recently.

If a full Black Ops 2 remaster were to exist anytime soon, it would mean that Activision would have the end of Black Ops Cold War’s run, 2019’s Modern Warfare, Warzone, Vanguard, and Black Ops 2.

One of the problems 2016’s Infinite Warfare suffered from is that it released with the full Call of Duty 4 remaster, and consequently, the player base was divided between the two games.

Furthermore, Black Ops Cold War featured no less than seven Black Ops 2 map remasters throughout its multiple seasons, and they feel too fresh in the memory to warrant a remaster of the multiplayer.

We could see a remaster of the Black Ops campaigns, following the successful rerelease of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.

Activision may have some surprises and remasters up their sleeves, but for the time being, we can only speculate and ask you to keep checking in to see if anything becomes official.

Режимы

По режимам все достаточно стандартно. Есть уже знакомый «Каждый за себя», «Убийство подтверждено», «Командный бой» на 10 и 20 человек, «Превосходство» (захват точек) на 10 и 20 человек, «Штаб» (появляется одна точка, которую нужно захватить и удерживать) и «Найти и уничтожить» (классическая бомба прямиком из CS:GO). Новых режимов четыре: «Кибератака», «Огневой контакт», «Наземные войны» и «ОВН».

«Кибератака» представляет собой вариацию закладки бомбы, но союзников можно возрождать во время раунда. «Огневой контакт» – командные бои 2х2 по раундам. Каждый раунд у бойцов меняется оружие и обвесы, свой класс на этот режим выбрать нельзя. «Наземные войны» – этакая попытка Колды превратиться в Battlefield с масштабными боями 32х32 на больших картах. Об этом я напишу отдельный пост, но сейчас скажу вкратце – прикольно, но до Батлы не дотягивает.

«ОВН» несколько меняет правила обычных матчей. В нем на всех картах кромешная тьма, а бойцам нужно пользоваться приборами ночного видения. Интерфейса вообще нет, урон от оружия немного увеличен, а на каждую пушку автоматически ставится лазерный прицел – по нему можно определить местоположение противника или спалить свое. Забавная вариация на тему хардкора, которого в Modern Warfare нет.

Сетевой режим Call of Duty: Modern Warfare удался. Как я люблю говорить, он избавился от всего мусора вроде джетпаков и пробежек по стенам, оставив только адреналиновый геймплей и динамичные перестрелки. Отличная прокачка, ообилие режимов, все нововведения чувствуются органичными и правильными. Единственное, что откровенно расстроило – дизайн карт. Надеюсь, что в будущем разработчики что-то с этим сделают. Ну и да, Infinity Ward, где мой «Терминал» из MW2?

Появляется чёрный экран в Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

• Драйверы установлены/обновлены, но Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 всё равно отказывается работать
  нормально? Тогда нужно проверить ПО, установлены ли вообще необходимые библиотеки? В
  первую очередь проверьте наличие библиотек

• Если ничего из вышеописанного не дало нужного результата, тогда пора прибегнуть к
  радикальному способу решения проблемы: запускаете Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 и при появлении
  чёрного экрана нажимаете сочетание клавиш «Alt+Enter», чтобы игра переключилась на
  оконный режим. Так, возможно, откроется главное меню игры и удастся определить
  проблема в игре или нет. Если удалось перейти в оконный режим, тогда переходите в
  игровые настройки Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 и меняйте разрешение (часто получается так, что
  несоответствие разрешения игры и рабочего стола приводит к конфликту, из-за которого
  появляется чёрный экран).
• Причиной этой ошибки также могут послужить различные программы, предназначенные для
  захвата видео и другие приложения, связанные с видеоэффектами. А причина простая –
  появляются конфликты.
• И напоследок – проблема, вероятнее всего, может быть связана с технической
  составляющей «железа». Видеоадаптер может перегреваться, как и мосты на материнской
  плате, что влечёт за собой уменьшенное энергопотребление видеокарты. Мы не будем
  вдаваться в детальные технические подробности, поэтому просто рекомендуем в
  обязательном порядке почистить свою машину от пыли и также поменять термопасту!

В Modern Warfare есть молодой Прайс. Без усов!

Кастомизация оружия… Ну, она такая же, как и в других шутерах вроде Fortnite или Apex Legends. К сожалению, от розовых автоматов разработчики решили не отказываться, но все выглядит более-менее сдержанно и стильно. Новые скины открываются за выполнение испытаний или просто за убийства противников. Еще на оружие можно повесить брелок (есть даже смайлик какашечки), нанести наклейку или изменить дизайн точки в прицеле. В общем, кастомизация ничем не выделяется, но вроде и без откровенной дичи. 

Новинка для серии – «Полевые модификации». Это отдельное умение, которое доступно несколько раз за время матча. Например, можно бросить на землю ящик с боеприпасами, превратить бойца в ниндзю (он будет быстрее бегать и не издавать шума), или поставить турельку, уничтожающую вражеские гранаты. Для любителей тактики есть беспилотник, управляемый вручную, а также щиток, который можно установить на землю и превратить в импровизированное укрытие. 

Перки тоже вернулись и выполнены в трех классических категориях. Можно дать персонажу навык носить второе основное оружие вместо пистолета, сделать невидимым для беспилотников или уменьшить воздействие от оглушающих или ослепляющих гранат. Классика в чистом виде, без наворотов. 

Среди боевых гранат фанаты могут отметить вернувшийся «Клеймор», который успел ******* каждого, кто играл в классические Call of Duty, а также коктейль Молотова и термитную гранату, поджигающие определенную область. В дополнительной экипировке компанию флешкам составили газовая граната и стимулятор, мгновенно восстанавливающий здоровье до максимума. 

Прокачивается персонаж достаточно бодро. За 30 часов я почти поднял максимальный уровень и открыл все пушки и экипировку. В довесок к этому есть испытания, которые делятся на два типа: ежедневные и операции. Ежедневные меняются каждый день и мотивируют играть в разные режимы и пользоваться разными видами оружия. Правда, на момент написания этого текста они были немного багнутыми – на информационном табло иногда не отображается статус его выполнения, даже если буквально только что игра громко объявила, что испытание выполнено.

Операции выбираются в главном меню и обладают тем же функционалом, но выполнять их можно в производном порядке и у них нет «срока годности». За прохождение испытаний обоих типов дают бонусный опыт и уникальные скины для оружия. Здесь я заметил забавный прикол – если поставить на пушку уникальный скин, то она перестанет прокачиваться и засчитываться в испытаниях.

Изменять класс теперь можно не только между играми, но и прямо во время матча. Даже если вы только что подняли новый уровень на своем дробовике и открыли приклад – никто не мешает вам сразу же поставить его и сразу опробовать в бою.

Activision Blizzard provides update

Since these new investigations have come to light, Activision Blizzard has issued a statement revealing some progress that the company claims to have made over the last two months.

Bobby Kotick, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard, said, “We are deeply committed to making Activision Blizzard one of the best, most inclusive places to work anywhere. There is absolutely no place anywhere in our Company for discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment of any kind. While we continue to work in good faith with regulators to address and resolve past workplace issues, we also continue to move ahead with our own initiatives to ensure that we are the very best place to work. We remain committed to addressing all workplace issues in a forthright and prompt manner.”

Activision Blizzard confirmed investigations are underway by the SEC and the EEOC, which were reported by the WSJ. The company says that they are “cooperating” with the investigations.

Kotick also said that the Company continues to productively engage with regulators, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) with the goal of improving its workplace policies and procedures and ensuring compliance.

The Company is actively engaged in continued discussions with the EEOC and has cooperated with the EEOC’s investigation concerning certain employment practices. It also confirmed that it is complying with a recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) subpoena issued to the Company and several current and former employees and executives regarding disclosures on employment matters and related issues. The Company is confident in its prior disclosures and is cooperating with the SEC’s investigation.

In addition, Activision Blizzard states that they have made several changes to the company and the company’s culture. They state that there have been many exits from the company and have “refreshed” their HR team.

Activision Blizzard recently announced the hiring of Julie Hodges as their new Chief People Officer, who will be responsible for HR. Hodges begins her role on Sept. 21. She replaces the current head of HR, who has left the company.

Activision Blizzard has made a number of important improvements including significant changes to personnel, exiting a number of employees, and expanding compliance resources. In addition, the Company has refreshed its HR organization and, this week, will welcome a new Chief People Officer, Julie Hodges, who joins the Company from The Walt Disney Company. The Company has also expanded training, performance management, and anti-harassment resources.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts, the tenth main installment in the Call of Duty series, is being developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. The Call of Duty: Ghosts Game will be released on 5th of November on Xbox 360, PS3, next-gen consoles and PC.

The multiplayer in Ghosts has been revamped thanks to the new next-gen engine. The Call of Duty: Ghosts Weapons have been created in HD quality and are as realistic as possible. At the same time features such as character customization, many new player movements such as sliding, leaning around corners have been added. Infinity Ward has also balanced the Call of Duty: Ghosts Perks and killstreaks by making them friendlier to new players — old perks like the Sleight Of Hand and SitRep are making a return.

The maps in Ghosts are dynamic, which allows random events to happen, like earthquakes and floods. Gamers who pre-order the game will receive an addition to their Call of Duty: Ghosts Maps list: «Free Fall», a dynamic map that takes place in a ruined skyscraper that continues to fall as the match progresses.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. BO2 is set for release on November 13, 2012. Call of Duty: Black Ops II takes place in the 1980s for the first third of the game and in 2025 for the final 2/3.

Zombies mode will return for Black Ops II with its own campaign using the multiplayer engine. Multiplayer is also receiving a huge improvement since majority of the black ops II weapons have been balanced like never before. Strike Force missions allow the player to control a number of different war assets, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, jet fighters and robots. The perks system will be making the new black ops II perks more strategic, thus allowing players to customize their loadout to their needs.

Black Ops 2 will be released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Infinity Ward Austin Texas office

Today, Infinity Ward announced via Twitter that it would be opening a new office in Austin, Texas. This would be the fourth development hub for the company, with the other three being located in Los Angeles, Poland, and Mexico.

This also means that Infinity Ward is hiring. According to Infinity Ward, the Austin office is currently hiring for all positions, and you can find all of the available jobs posted on the Infinity Ward website.

Call of Duty: Vanguard releases in less than a month. It’s taking players back to WWII, where Infinity Ward is expected to bring the franchise back to modern times, with CoD 2022 speculated to be a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019.

That being said, we have no official idea what to expect from Infinity Ward going into 2022, but with the significant success of Modern Warfare 2019, it will no doubt be a Call of Duty game plenty of players will love.

CoD 2021 MW2 multiplayer remastered

Games insider, Jeff Grubb, released a video over on his YouTube claiming some interesting information on a bunch of games. As well as mentioning Battlefield 6, claiming the reveal trailer will be releasing in June, Jeff Grubb also had some very intriguing information on CoD 2021.

Jeff Grubb says he has heard online rumors – with many being debunked already – that CoD 2021’s multiplayer might be MW2 Remastered.

Updated: He noted that he didn’t hear this info himself, just heard it online. Activision has already said Sledgehammer is developing the new MP, alongside campaign and Co-Op for 2021. MW2 MP remains a fan dream that isn’t confirmed anywhere.

This is not official and should be taken with a grain. We don’t believe it’s accurate.

We did see Activision release MW2’s campaign remastered back in March 2020.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8th, 2011 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It’s being made by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software as a joint effort to make the best Call of Duty game ever.

The game will see the return of Task Force 141 Captain John «Soap» MacTavish and former SAS Captain John Price, with Vladimir Makarov as the game’s main antagonist. MW3’s multiplayer will be done by Raven Software, which means that modern warfare 3 will have the best multiplayer experience to date. The modern warfare 3 perks system will have familiar perks returning from MW2, but most of the MW3 perks will be new and/or enhanced. The multiplayer experience will also have a lot of new weapons and attachments, and the modern warfare 3 weapons will be even more customizable than before.

Just like Modern Warfare 2, MW3 will be supported after release and will have increased security against cheaters on both Xbox 360 (XBOX Live) and PlayStation 3 (PSN).

Игровой процесс

Геймплей шутера очень напоминает Modern Warfare 2. Здесь очень маленький TTK (Time to kill), из-за чего убить вас можно буквально за несколько пуль. Но и вы при этом можете делать то же самое, поэтому любимые моменты «Вышел за спину четверым и всех перестрелял» вернулись. Из-за этого игра лишилась некоторой доли аркадности по сравнению с той же Black Ops 4. Но, как мне кажется, это пошло игре даже на пользу. Теперь она мотивирует думать головой, а не просто бегать по карте с дробовиком наперевес – хотя такие кадры в матчах тоже встречаются, но это просто стало сложнее.

В геймплее появилось множество мелких деталей. Одна из самых заметных – возможность использовать почти любую поверхность в качестве упора для оружия. Подходим к любой стене/ящику/бордюру и нажимаем кнопку – боец приклеется к укрытию и начнет стрелять через прицел, но дергаться при этом совсем не будет.

С одной стороны – невероятно полезный навык для обороны, с другой – полностью отключается возможность передвигаться, что зачастую становится фатальным. Если дважды нажать кнопку спринта, то боец закинет оружие за голову и несколько секунд будет бежать очень быстро. Это помогает пересекать местность, но если вы в таком виде встретите противника то, скорее всего, умрете.
