Ray of Hope – Secure Custody is currently hiring for Youth Care Workers (Full-time, Relief, Part-time).

Description

The Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing the day-to-day support and supervision to male youth in a Secure Custody facility. The Youth Care Worker will engage in appropriate behaviour interventions and will actively participate in providing an effective, supportive, and respectful care system for the youth in custody. The Youth Care Worker may be assigned case management responsibilities and be assigned as the designated staff in charge.

Ray of Hope – Secure Custody is currently hiring a Shift Supervisor. 

Description

Under the direction of the Program Director and working collaboratively with the other Shift Supervisors, the Shift Supervisor up holds, supports and implements Ray of Hope philosophies, its mandate and its ministry to young persons who have been in conflict with the law, through the professional application of the organization’s programs, policies and procedures. The Shift Supervisor manages the day to day operations and supervises residential programs, while supporting and providing formal supervision to staff and encouraging programming that addresses resident’s individual needs. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for completing administrative duties and maintaining administrative records for all residential programs. The Shift Supervisor will implement the performance management system for their assigned group of staff. The Shift Supervisor may be assigned a specialized area of supporting and overseeing scheduling, programming and/or training.

Ray of Hope – Residential (Youth Addiction Services) is currently hiring for Youth Support Workers (Casual, Full-time, Part-time).

Description

The Overnight Worker provides direct care and supervision to residents in the residential program during the overnight hours. S/he implements the treatment plan to the extent s/he has contact with the youth and may provide individual support to residents as needed. The Overnight Worker also supports the overall smooth running of the program by performing duties such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and data entry.

Ray of Hope – Community Based Treatment (Youth Addiction Services) is currently hiring a full-time Therapist.

Description

The Therapist 1 provides specialized, mobile counselling & psychotherapy services to youth dealing with substance use and/or addiction problems, and their families. S/he helps clients understand and address substance use and related problems, including mental health issues, family dynamics and life style changes. The Therapist 1 may provide case management to youth, as needed, in order to support harm reduction and life style change appropriate to the developmental stage of adolescents. The Therapist 1 is expected to work collaboratively within the organization, and to establish and maintain strong working relationships with related community organizations. Community treatment services are fully mobile, so access to a reliable vehicle and daily travel within Waterloo Region for work is required.

Ray of Hope – Community Centre is currently hiring for a Services Coordinator. 

Description

The Services Coordinator is responsible for leading, monitoring, and supervising the overall operations of the Community Centre during times it is open to the public. They will contribute to creating an enjoyable experience and safe environment for our guests and volunteers through supporting, de-escalating and intervening in situations as necessary. The Services Coordinator will provide orientation and leadership to meal groups and volunteers in the required areas of responsibility, including meal preparation, Marketplace appointments, clothing needs, laundry and shower requests and any other area of programming. They will work in partnership with at least one other Service Coordinator while completing their responsibilities.

Ray of Hope – Youth Employment Services is currently seeking participants for paid Employment Skills Training.

Description

Our work readiness training program provides individuals with the necessary skills to apply for and secure full time employment.

Our Work Readiness Training Program is 26-weeks long. During this time, you will complete 3 phases:

Phase 1: 6 Weeks in Class Training

Phase 2: 10 Weeks of Internal Work Placement

Phase 3: 10 Weeks of External Work Placement
