The Alignment Meter[]

The alignment meter shows the selected faction and your current rank for it — «stranger» in the beginning. Use the arrow keys <left> and <right> to display another faction. <Up> and <down> cycles through different groups — Westlands, Rhûn, Harad. The gold ring indicates, how far you made it to the next rank — in the example a bit over halfway from «Esquire» (+500.0) to «Captain» (+1000.0). After you earned or lost alignment, the exact number will be displayed for a short time (see third bar below).

If you are far from a faction’s location, then your alignment bar will look much like the one above. However, if you enter a region of Middle-earth where a faction is active, then your alignment bar will show arrows on the left and the right, like the one below:

If you see these arrows, it means this alignment meter is «active», meaning that you’re in that faction’s Area of Influence, and that killing NPCs will have an effect on your alignment. The arrows will become less visible (see the bar below) as you move further away from the centre, and will disappear entirely when you are completely outside.

If you decide to pledge to the displayed faction, the gold ring will be replaced by a red seal. Note that in the example, it moved slightly up in the next bar, as the player earned a bit of alignment (793.5 -> 794.1):

This means that killing Gundabad Orcs in the Lone-lands for example won’t affect the player’s alignment with the Rohan, unless there are Rohirrim nearby. This commonly happens with hired armies, or using for example. The alignment meter then displays round bullets instead of arrows beside it (see below), in which case kills count half as much as in the full alignment area.

Lore[]

Lothlórien is a marvel out of the Elder Days, preserved by the powers of the Elves and Lady Galadriel. The woods, first known to the Nandor as Lindórinand, were home to elves of the Silvan folk. After the falls of Beleriand and Eregion, some of the Sindar and Noldor came to dwell in the wood, among them Celeborn and Galadriel. By the gift of Gil-Galad, the High King of the Noldor, Galadriel planted Mallorn trees in the forest from which Gil-Galad received from the Numenoreans who in turn received it from the Teleri of Tol Eressea and these grew by her power, the only Mellyrn east of the Sea. The land became known as Laurelindórenan, Land of the Valley of Singing Gold. Through the long years, though time and sorrow have slowly faded it, the flower of Lothlórien has not perished, and it remains the heart of Elvendom on earth.

Player selection[]

When a command wants a argument, you can type a player’s name or a player selection code. The target selection code consists of one target selection variable and optional additional selectors in squared brackets for closer selection. You can invert an additional argument by setting an behind the mark.

Description:The First Age Submod is an edited version of the Lord of the Rings Mod* developed by the Eras of Arda team. We use an edited map that adds Beleriand to the map, and removes the rest of Middle-earth. The submod adds many new factions to the mod. All of these new factions are custom-coded to provide the best adaption of the Silmarillion into the LOTRmod. You can play as an elf of Doriath, a man from Dor-lómin, or an orc of Angband.

*Note that this is the only submod that has been given authorisation by Mevans to distribute the mod’s code.

Sub-biomes[]

Eaves of Lothlórien

Eaves of Lothlórien Clearing.

This sub-biome borders the main forest. While the normal sized Mallorn Tree grow here, oaks make up the majority of the greenery in this area and large Mellyrn spawn only rarely, lairelossi not at all. There are also none of the normal Lothlórien structures. It also contains some features of The Vales of Anduin, such as Larch trees and horses spawning. Additionally, the Eaves of Lothlórien include separate flowers, hills and clearing variants within itself. This part of Lothlórien is intensely patrolled by wardens, to counter the continuous threat of invasions from Gundabad and Dol Guldur forces.

Structures[]

Within Erebor is the Lonely Mountain, which towers tall into the skies of Middle-Earth. On its slopes several structures can generate.

  • Dwarven Towers- Large towers of Dwarven brick. They contain Dwarf warriors, barrels of Dwarven ale, food, chests, Dwarven crafting tables, and a Dwarf commander.
  • Dwarven Mines- Large and complex mineshafts. They contain Dwarven forges and normal crafting tables. The long and complex mineshafts contain ores, as well as chests of items, and Dwarven Miners. This place is very hard for evil players to enter as the tunnels are patrolled by many miners and their heavily armoured escorts.
  • Dwarven Smithy- These are the workshops of the dwarves, where their smiths forge their weapons and armour. It contains two chests, with normal dwarven loot, two dwarven forges where the player can smelt their ore, three anvils, and two unsmelteries.

Lore[]

Erebor was a Dwarven kingdom founded by Thráin I, a Dwarven Lord from the Grey Mountains. The kingdom flourished as the discovery of gold and gems throughout the mountain became widely known.

However, darkness came as Thrór became obsessed by his hoard of treasure, particularly the Arkenstone. On one windy day, the inhabitants of Erebor heard the pines creaking violently on the mountainside, as if in a hurricane. The dragon Smaug, chiefest and greatest of calamities, had arrived, attracted by the Dwarves’ massive hoard of gold. He stormed Erebor, desecrating their sacred halls and amounting himself a pile of treasure. Thrór and his son Thráin II escaped with singed beards, their great kingdom lost.

Eventually, the mountain was taken back by Thrór’s brave grandson, Thorin II Oakenshield, who led a party of 13 Dwarves, along with the Hobbit Bilbo as their burglar and a wizard named Gandalf. They braved many perils together and came upon the mountain. There, they teased and riddled Smaug, resulting in him destroying the nearby town of Esgaroth (Lake-Town). In the midst of that chaos, Bard the Bowman smote down the beast with a well-shot black arrow.

After the dragon’s death, there was the Battle of Five Armies was fought between Elves, Men, Dwarves, Orcs, and Wargs, each one vying for either gold, territory, or vengeance. In the end, the Orcs were defeated by the coalition of the good armies, but Thorin was killed and buried deep within the mountain with Orcrist and the Arkenstone upon his breast. Dáin II Ironfoot succeeded him and became the King Under the Mountain.

Палатки могут быть сделаны из темно-зеленой, темно-серой или коричневой шерсти.
  • Разрушенная башня Дунэдайн — разрушенные каменные кирпичные башни, которые наверху содержат один сундук с очень ценной добычей.

Melee Weapons[]

This type of weapon is held in hand. You have to stand quite close to your foe to reach it. If your weapon has 100% reach and you and your foe both stand on the near end of the block, you can have two blocks in between, but not more. For a second type of melee weapons with increased reach, see the .

The melee attack cooldown timer.

Note that as of , all melee weapons have a cooldown timer, activated whenever you hit an opponent. Until this cooldown timer runs out, you’ll be incapable of dealing any damage to your enemy. If a weapon has a speed of 100%, its cooldown speed is 15 ticks, or 0.75 seconds.

Battleaxes are craftable weapons used to defeat foes and cut wood blocks faster, similar to an ordinary axe.  Unlike daggers or spears, battleaxes are only used by a number of select factions (Elves and Gondorians have no use for them).  They are used mainly by Dwarves, Orcs, Uruks and the Rohirrim. They deal their equipment sets base damage +2 and have a slower swing speed then swords.
A club is the equivalent to a hammer, as it has a greater knock-back effect than other weapons. It is used only by Dunlendings and does 4 damage.
The dagger is a new type of weapon, similar to a sword but dealing less damage (-2 from the equipment set’s base damage). A dagger can be crafted on the appropriate crafting table using one ingot and one stick. There are many types of dagger, from all sorts of different factions.

Additionally, each dagger type has a poisoned variant, which deals a poison effect to the victim (duration varies, but tends to last longer on higher difficulties). These can be crafted using a normal dagger and a bottle of poison. Some NPCs (such as Orcs) can be found wielding these poisoned daggers but most NPC types do not use them.

Hammers are a new type of weapon, crafted with three sticks and four ingots. Like battleaxes, hammers are only used by certain factions, Rohirrim don’t use them (a heavy hammer is unwieldy when mounted!) and neither do elves or Dunlendings. Hammers are mainly used by Dwarves, Gondorians, Orcs and Uruks. NPCs can sometimes spawn holding a hammer, and a hammer in the hands of an NPC deals the same increased knockback, so watch out! They deal their equipment sets base damage +2 and have a significantly slower swing speed, but also do +1 knockback.
The mace is a type of weapon that is currently used only by Half-trolls and Near Harad. It’s equivalent to a hammer statwise. There is also another mace known as the charred mallorn mace that is not specific to any faction. They deal their equipment sets base damage +2, have a significantly slower swing speed and do +1 knockback.
The Orc Skull Staff is the weapon that all Orc chieftains wield. It deals 6.5 () damage, and has 100% swing speed and reach.
The sword and the scimitar are short range weapons. They can be crafted on the appropriate crafting table using two ingots and one stick. There are many types of swords, from all sorts of different factions. There are some special swords that one can craft, like the magical Morgul blade, the sword of command or the ancient sword (crafted from bits found in remains). They deal their equipment sets base damage, with default range and attack speed.

Ширские высоты

Суб-биом на севере Шира, граничащий с Северным нагорьем Эриадора и землёй около озера Эвендим. Холмы со множеством больших булыжников. Это — родина многих старых дубов и каштанов. Хоббиты здесь живут в мельницах и маленьких фермах. Бандитов здесь много.

Ширские болота

Среди болот Шира можно отметить два — на северо-востоке от Хоббитона и на юго-востоке от Дипхоллоу, в том числе и на южной границе. Земля здесь не позволяет строить здания, но, особенно в возвышенностях, можно встретить столы для пикника. Из-за незаселённости здесь вас могут ограбить бандиты.

Ширский сад

Здесь, во фруктовых садах, хоббиты-садовники садят множество фруктовых деревьев, в том числе яблочных, грушевых и вишнёвых. Они дружелюбны и могут продавать различные фрукты, и покупать топоры и другие инструменты для фермерства. Сады Шира, по сравнению с другими суб-биомами, малы.

Ents, or Onodrim (meaning Tree-Host in Sindarin), were created by Eru Ilúvatar on the request of Yavanna, one of the Valar, when she saw Aulë’s children, the dwarves. They are tree- and also Huorn-herders, protecting their home from any evil creature that would venture into it.

When they first came into existence — around the same time as the Elves — they did not possess the ability to speak. The Elves taught them Quenya, which some still remembered at the end of the Third age. At the time of the War of the Ring, they mainly speak Entish, a slow language utterly incomprehensible to outsiders, but some, such as Treebeard, can also speak Westron.

Ents have been known to have many shapes, colours, differences in girth; and height, and length of leg and arm; and in the number of toes and fingers (anything from three to nine). A few reminded one of beech-trees or . But there were other kinds. Some recalled the chestnut: brown-skinned Ents with large splay-fingered hands, and short thick legs. Some recalled the ash: tall straight grey Ents with many-fingered hands and long legs; some the fir (the tallest Ents), and others the , the rowan, and the linden. But they were all of the same kindred, and all had the same eyes: not all so old or so deep, but all with the same slow, steady, thoughtful expression, and the same green flicker.

They cannot be poisoned, for one thing; and their skin seems to be very thick, and tougher than bark. Take the document, and without editing it in any way (unless you want to add more orc prefixes and/or suffixes), move it into the names file. It will ask you if you want to update this file, so accept, and then you will have your new orc names!

Description[]

A Gundabad invasion in the Lone Lands.

Unlike bandits, invasions don’t come without warning; the first sign that you’re going to be in for a fight is a low-pitched horn blow, and a message in the chat stating » have launched an invasion nearby!». These invasions can occur in almost any biome, from Rohan to Gondor to the Lone-lands, but are most dangerous in «wilderness» biomes — that is, Wilderland, Lone-lands, and similar biomes. Some biomes can be invaded by more than one faction, and the chance for an invasion to happen varies depending on which biome is being invaded by which faction. It is possible for multiple factions to invade the same place at the same time.

When the invasion begins, a large weapon of the invading faction will appear floating over the ground, surrounded by flames that don’t give off any light. When this happens, you have two options: Run and hide, or kill all the enemy units that it spawns. If you choose the latter, beware that a naturally-spawned invasion can result in 30 to 70 enemy units appearing within a very short period of time, but also note that slaying all the enemy units could result in you getting a lot of alignment to the enemies of the faction you’re fighting against, as well as loot. If you are in creative mode, you can break the invasion spawner by left-clicking on it.

Mobs spawned in an invasion have a much longer sight range than normal mobs (40 blocks instead of 16) and mounted units have an even longer range of sight during an invasion; they can see enemies from up to 60 blocks away.

Every time the horn blows, between one and six enemy units will spawn, up to six blocks away from the invasion spawner.

The units spawned in an invasion can include any units the enemy has at its disposal. For example, a Rohirric invasion of the Uruk Highlands will contain mostly mounted Rohirrim and bowmen, whereas an Angmar invasion of the Lone-lands will contain all possible units allied with the Angmar faction.

The spawning of enemy units will only end when enough units from the invasion have been killed by a player or by hired troops (indicated by the progress bar at the top of the screen); once this is accomplished the spawner will then explode (without damaging you) and disappear, thus ending the invasion. There is an option in the config to allow incomplete naturally spawned invasions to slowly lose the progress made toward defeating them, but it is disabled by default. Invasions will self-destruct after 16 successive failed mob spawn attempts.

Invasions can happen at any time of night or day, in most biomes (see the list below) although the chance of an invasion is greatly increased on nights when there is a lunar eclipse.

Unlike most NPC’s, any NPC spawned by an invasion spawner will not naturally despawn, and must be slain.

При падении тарелки ломаются и их больше нельзя поднять, так же они будут ломать оконные стёкла — диаметром 5×5 блоков. При уничтожении врага тарелкой вы можете получить достижение «Кухонный дебошир».
Копья Копья, это оружия ближнего боя, но могут также быть брошены и нанести урон врагу. Урон наносимый летящим копьём завит от того как долго вы будете его удерживать (принцип лука в обычном майнкрафте). Убив врага копьём на расстоянии более 50 метров вы получите достижение «Пронзён».
Метательные топоры Метательные топоры используются только гномами, горцами Рудаура и дунландцами. Они работают также как и копья только у них нету время натягивания, поэтому они метаются сразу же. Теоретически вы кидаете 4 разных топора за 1 секунду. Однако на самом деле это займёт больше времени так как вам придётся переключать слоты инвентаря. Также как и копья их можно поднять после броска. Потребуется около 6 ударов топора что бы убить обычного орка.

Buildings and ruins[]

By far the most diverse kind of generated structures that are found in the mod are buildings and ruins. These range from small, such as the Underwater Elven Ruin, to quite large, such as the Rohan Fortress. There are also structures that spawn in the same location, regardless of the world, such as the Pits of Utumno. In the far future, there will be even larger generated structures in the mod, such as Minas Tirith, Helm’s Deep, Barad-Dur, and so on. Sometimes, groups of buildings will spawn together to create a village, as in the case of the Southron Village.

NPCs in structures

Certain structures will spawn with NPCs inside or around them. These NPCs may appear the same as normal NPCs, but they are «bound» to the structure that they inhabit. What this means is that the NPCs will stay within a certain distance of the structure, and that if, for any reason, some of the NPCs are removed from their position (by slaying or other means) the structure will gradually spawn more NPCs to replace the original NPCs. NPCs that spawn with a generated structure will also not despawn when a player moves away from the area, even if they would despawn under normal circumstances.

Many traders and captains can be found inside various generated structures, so if you’re looking to hire troops or to trade, a generated structure can be a good place to look.

Пика (Ланц) Пики — это другой тип древкового оружия, используется рыцарями-лебедями Дол Амрота, гондорскими солдатами и всадниками Рохана. Они сильнее отбрасывают и имеют 200 % досягаемости, но в 2 раза медленнее меча. Пики наносят базовый урон и замедляют движение если игрок не использует лошадь.

If your computer is less than 5 years old it is very likely safe to skip this section for now.

In order to run the mod, it is recommended to have at least the following PC specs:

RAM

The mod requires that Minecraft have at least 2GB of RAM allocated in order to run. A computer with 4GB of RAM is recommended. The mod may run with less RAM allocated if you only have 2GB in your computer, but mileage may vary, and you risk experiencing «Minecraft has run out of memory» crashes. It is not recommended to allocate more than half of the RAM in your computer to Minecraft. If your computer has less than 4 GB of RAM, consider installing more, as it is generally relatively inexpensive.

The following is a tutorial on allocating memory for minecraft using the LOTR mod. Please note that allocating the recommended amount of memory will require a 64-bit version of java. Choose your launcher below.

Old Vanilla Launcher

To allocate more memory for minecraft using the vanilla launcher, click on Edit Profile in the lower left corner. At the bottom of that dialogue box is JVM Arguments. Remove all JVM Arguments and replace them with -Xmx2G or -Xmx2048M. The recommended amount of memory for LOTR is 2G, but if you are using a high resolution texture pack you should allocate more. Likewise, if your computer is limited on memory, you may want to allocate less to be sure that your operating system and other programs have enough memory.

New Vanilla Launcher

To allocate more memory for minecraft using the newer edition of the vanilla launcher, click on

Launch Options, located on the right side of the menu bar. Click on the profile you intend to add more RAM for, and locate the box entitled JVM Arguments. Click the gray toggle to enable arguments for this profile. In the box, put -Xmx2G or -Xmx2048M. The recommended amount of memory for LOTR is 2G, but if you are using a high resolution texture pack you should allocate more. Likewise, if your computer is limited on memory, you may want to allocate less to be sure that your operating system and other programs have enough memory.

Technic Launcher

To allocate more memory for minecraft using the technic launcher, click on Launcher Options at the top right corner. Then click on the Java Settings tab and from there you can change the amount of memory to your liking. The recommended amount of memory for LOTR is 2G, but if you are using a high resolution texture pack you should allocate more. Likewise, if your computer is limited on memory, you may want to allocate less to be sure that your operating system and other programs have enough memory.

MultiMC

To allocate more memory for minecraft using the MultiMC launcher, click on the instance you want to modify, then click Edit Instance. From there, go to Settings, check the box by Memory and change the Maximum Memory Allocation to 2048MB. The recommended amount of memory for LOTR is 2G, but if you are using a high resolution texture pack you should allocate more. Likewise, if your computer is limited on memory, you may want to allocate less to be sure that your operating system and other programs have enough memory.

CPU

A 64-bit processor is recommended, although a 32-bit one can run the mod.

Any CPU that can run the latest version of Vanilla should be fine. An Intel i3 or the AMD equivalent can do this, though a better CPU will help run things faster.

GPU

Most desktops will do OK running the game on the integrated graphics, although a separate GPU can help. If you have a laptop with a powered down CPU, a separate GPU will help, any one made after 2014 or so should be adequate.

Storage space

Storage space scales with the number of worlds and therefore the amount of space you’ll need depends on the number of singleplayer worlds you have and the amount of exploration you do in those worlds. The bare minimum for the mod and Minecraft’s program files is around 210 MB. 1GB is plenty for storing just game files and one or two worlds, and is totally adequate if you plan to play almost exclusively on servers. More space (4GB or so) will allow you to keep more worlds and screenshots, and allow you to use community-made Resource Packs and Music Packs. Having an SSD will make the game start up faster and speed chunk loading, but is not required.

  • If your computer is low on storage space, but meets all the other requirements to run the mod, consider deleting files/programs you don’t need.
  • If you are a singleplayer explorer and your worlds are getting excessively large, you can make them smaller by deleting region files that don’t care about. Using a coordinate tool will allow you to find out which region files contain things you wish to save, if you know their x/z coordinates. You can then delete all the other region files. If you’re running the Legacy version, you can use Joetater to help with this process.
