World statistics

Worlds are generated randomly and are not infinite nor do they loop around. This is most evident in the tutorial levels and «Small» worlds, as the edges are found very quickly.

Worlds can be generated in several sizes:

• Tutorial worlds are 400 square units (20×20).
• Small worlds are 2500 square units (50×50).
• Medium worlds are 10000 square units (100×100).
• Large worlds are 22,500 square units (150×150).
• Huge worlds are 40,000 square units (200×200).

Prior to the Early Access Update 3 and final release, the game had few limitations on world size. Per LEGO Worlds developer Chris Rose:

Basically as big as your Hard Drive can handle. There’s currently no limit to the World Sizes though as we progress that’s something we may well have to address to avoid crippling save data sizes.

LEGO Worlds has a technical size limit due to the number of chunks being limited by their 16-bit address. The maximum size of a world is 2,097,120 x 2,097,120 studs. I previously explained it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/332310/discussions/0/523890528711209415/

The height limit from bedrock to invisible ceiling is 4087 studs. Bricks can reach beyond that point as long as their base is still at a legal height but they won’t render correctly.

To put it in context, this is substantially higher then Minecraft’s standard height limit of 256 blocks even when you equate a 1m tall block with 8 studs.

• Length of day: 10 minutes of real world time for one complete day/night cycle on any LEGO World. Sunrise to sunset lasts 6 minutes 45 seconds, while the reverse is only 3 minutes 15 seconds. Time scale is also not consistent: It slows down significantly during twilight (dawn and dusk), picking back up again when the sun is fully up or down.
• Time on a new World begins at 12:00 (noon) on «Day 0» as soon as the ship breaks the atmosphere on its way down. It is not clear if there is (or if there will be) anything significant about the number of days passed on a particular World. The passage of time on a specific world is not recorded when leaving that World, the time resets to Day 0 @ 12:00 upon returning.

Unlocking Creatures

Most Creatures can be discovered immediately upon finding them in the world. Many, however, require some Item that the player must give them before they will be unlocked. Such a Creature will pose a thought bubble above its head showing what Item it wants. The player must have the Item in their inventory, at which point, interacting with the Creature will automatically trade the item. The item will be permanently removed from the player’s inventory, and the creature will spawn some Studs for successful Quest completion, and become unlocked to Discover with the Discovery Tool.

Once unlocked, the Player is then able to purchase the Creature either using the Discovery Tool again on the Creature, or using the Discovery Menu. Once purchased any creature can be spawned any number of times for free, placed in the world or even launched high into the air! A few Creatures can be spawned by certain Characters, but can then be unlocked or discovered as normal.

It is not necessary to unlock or discover a rideable creature before it can be mounted. Even aggressive creatures like the Bear and Shark can be ridden without subduing them first.

There are currently 110 Creatures in the base set, 1 in free DLC and 3 in paid DLC.
Total: 114 known Creatures.

Special Abilities

Some Characters have special abilities, which can be used by the player if the player has taken the form of that Character. A special attack may be done the same as a regular attack for some Characters. The High Jump ability is «charged» by holding down the jump button or spacebar, then released, causing the character to fly high into the air. Other special abilities, like summoning Creatures or transforming require clicking the Special Ability button on the left side of the screen or pressing the associated button ( on PC). (The Player can also gain the abilities of a character by using that Character’s head in the Character Customizer menu.)

Immunities

Some Characters are immune to most forms of damage, and the player must find the appropriate weapons to attack them with instead. In general, undead are only vulnerable to Black Weapons (including most explosives), certain rare monsters and heroes are only vulnerable to Gold Weapons, Silver Weapons or Wooden Weapons and Dragons are only vulnerable to Crystal Weapons. These types of creatures are sometimes still vulnerable to environmental hazards, such as lava, slime, and drowning in water.

Players do not get the benefits of this invulnerability when taking the form of such a Character.

Обустраивайте свою площадку возле дома, стройте газоны, создавайте уют вокруг. Пусть другие игроки, когда придут к вам с союзом или враждебно настроенными, обзавидуются. Кстати говоря, чертежи построек можно найти на любой представленной локации. Они разбросаны по всему внутриигровому волшебному миру, поэтому срочно отправляйтесь на поиски. Собирайте жизненно важные ресурсы, золотые блоки, ищите своих союзников, договаривайтесь о взаимной стройке и делите территорию на несколько персон. В игре можно получить все, что найдете. И возможно именно вы станете обладателем шикарных ресурсов и артефактов. Они-то точно помогут при какой-то новой битве или строительстве. Населите свои собственные локации различными героями, монстрами и демонами, чтобы сразиться против них. Hovercraft

These vehicles hover just over the ground or water (and, if fast enough, over short amounts of lava or slime). They cannot increase their altitude. They will pass right over smaller objects, but will flatten characters and creatures and destroy larger objects.

Character Behaviours

Characters may behave in different ways when encountered in the world. Some want to say hi, some want to fight. Pay attention to their attitudes to avoid unpleasant situations.

Friendly Characters:

A regular NPC, which wanders around in the world. When approached, a friendly NPC may stop and wave or might even run up to your character, but does nothing aggressive unless attacked first.

Neutral Characters:

Neutral characters will neither approach nor flee, but do nothing aggressive if you approach. They may stop and stare at your character but that’s about it.

Aggressive Characters:

Aggressive characters may approach the player’s character and act aggressively by putting its hands up in a boxing manner. They will not attack the player unless attacked first, or if the player gets too close, but they may attack other Characters in the world. Taking the same form as an aggressive Character does not change that Character’s attitude towards a player. For example, if the player is a Skeleton, other Skeletons will still put their hands up in an aggressive manner towards the player, while friendly characters will wave at your Skeleton.  Aggressive characters can usually only be unlocked by defeating them in battle.

Hostile Characters:

Note that once you have attacked or otherwise aggravated an aggressive creature, it becomes Hostile, following you for long distances and attacking when it’s close enough.  Furthermore, any aggressive creatures of the same type in the local area will ALSO become hostile, which can result in hordes of angry mobs coming after the player for one ill-timed attack.  The only way to return hostile characters to aggressive mode is to go far enough away by running, skydiving or finding some other method of escape.

Skittish Characters:

Skittish characters will flee from the player to a certain distance before turning and watching the player carefully. Taking the same form as a skittish character will not change their attitude towards the player. Some skittish characters will become hostile if the player gets too close.

Если задание наскучило или кажется трудновыполнимым, в качестве альтернативы есть более интересный вариант. К примеру, затянулись поиски зеленых лягушек или недостаточно инструментов для постройки корабля. Другая планета может предоставить больше возможностей и принести успех.

Несмотря на все плюсы английской игры, есть и некоторые минусы. Из-за несовершенств оптимизации Lego Worlds, загрузка происходит довольно долго (почти минуту), нередко может произойти вылет.

Прежде чем освоиться в песочнице, придется повозиться с тонкостями блоков, которые необходимо открыть, чтобы строить модели. Лего Ворлд – это игра, наполненная смыслом, красочными планетами, обоснованным сюжетом. И хотя проект не идеален, поклонники одноименной продукции непременно оценят абсолютную свободу действий и возможность интересной совместной игры.
